Juniper berries have been used throughout civilizations and generations for the many medicinal properties that they hold. This blog will take you through some of these and what we at Anivia's Bath & Body use it for in our products. History
Juniper berries have been used across the world. In Romania, it has been used traditionally for generations as infusions and tinctures for their diuretic and antiseptic effects, to help stop bleeding on wounds, hemmoroids, and infant turburculosis, just to name a few.
The berries are used in traditional Turkish medicine as diuretic, antiseptic and treating gastrointestinal problems. The anti-inflammatory potential of juniper was also established and passed down into the folk medicine of different countries throughout Europe. The fruits of this plant have been used traditionally for the treatment of a migraine, rheumatic arthritis, and gout. Native Americans used these berries as a female contraceptive as well as an anorexigenic agent and in the treatment of diabetes.

1. Antioxidant
Considering that junipers aren't really berries, but fruit with a seed in the middle, they are still compared to the antioxidant power of common berries such as blueberries. 5. Interesting Study
A study was performed on lab rats withdifferent types of cancer. It showed that extracts of juniper berries were given to the rats and it reduced the cancer by a maximum of 50%.
